Staying Healthy - Preventive Care

Do you remember the old saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away? Or an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure? Staying healthy is the best way to keep feeling young and fit. There are choices you can make everyday that will impact your health and the health and wellness of your family. These things can include things like food choices, smoking, and physical exercise.

Another important choice for prevention is to get a yearly checkup with your PCP and with your dentist even if you feel fine. Children under 2 years old should see their PCP more often.

It is important that you select a Primary Care Provider (PCP) for yourself and family members who have Abri. If you have not seen the provider you have selected it is important to make an appointment with him or her to become established with that provider. By doing this your PCP will know your medical history and be able to manage your health better. Please call Customer Service at 414-847-1776 or 1-888-999-2404 if you need assistance in choosing a PCP or to notify Abri of your PCP choice.

Abri's Health Promotion and Outreach Specialists will send you periodic reminders or call you when certain preventive services are due and help you to make healthy choices. Below you will also find links to our member educational material and other websites that have helpful information.
