Can we submit claims electronically?
Yes, please complete the request to submit claims electronically form.
If a member has primary insurance does Abri require the member to have a secondary authorization?
No.
Can we receive a retro authorization?
No.
A claim was denied for timely filing, can we bill the patient?
No. Abri is a Medicaid HMO. Medicaid recipients cannot be billed for services. Under the Wisconsin Administrative Code, “recipients cannot be held liable by providers for covered services and items furnished by the providers under Medical Assistance program so long as the recipients are eligible for Medical Assistance benefits…” Nor can recipients be held liable “for the amount of difference between charge for service and the Program’s payment amount...” [HSS 104.01(12)]
In general, except for required co-payments, a provider may not charge a recipient unless “a service desired, needed or requested by the recipient is not covered under the program and the recipient is advised of this fact before receiving such services.” [HSS 106.04(3)]
